EE braving the cold this February!

A team of staff from Environmental Essentials are taking part in the ‘Big Sleep Out’ event at the Bet 365 Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent.

The sleep out will take place in the Franklyn stand of the Bet 365 stadium on Friday 28th February 2020 starting at 6pm and ending by 8am the following day. Staff will only have a cardboard box and sleeping bag to use to experience what it is like to be homeless on a cold winter evening.

This event will be supporting the Stoke City Community Trust and Homeless Charities from the city because life circumstances such as homelessness, bereavement, and mental illness can affect us all. The Stoke City Community trust and homeless charities through vital fundraising can help and support people with complex needs through temporary accommodation, employment advice, training and mental health support.

Eighteen homeless people have died in Stoke-on-Trent over the last five years, according to official estimates. Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that the city has the third highest number of homeless deaths in the West Midlands.

Please can you help us raise as much money as we can to make a huge difference to these charities and the many homeless people in Stoke-on-Trent.
